THE VENERABLE BAKA

Venerable lady whose name is already attested by a stele in the British Museum (472(298); HTBM VI, 1922, pl.45), attributed to Dynasty XVIII.

The exceptionnal presence of an unguent cone on the funerary statuette has been dealt with in an article pubished in BIFAO 2006.

Depicted as mummiform, with a tripartite wig surmounted by an unguent cone, the eyes

OUSHEBTIS’ CHEST OF LADY DIIESTHEBSED

Description :Oushebtis’ chest belonging to Lady Diiesthebsed, singer of the Amon sanctuary.
The chest is adorned on it’s four sides with a hieroglyphic inscription.
The top is illustrated with the representation of two small boats. One, with an oar, going toward north, the other sailing south.

Datation : Ancient Egypt art. Third intermediate period
Ethiopian Dynasty XXV

Stuccoed and painted wood.

Dimensions: 15,7 x 31 x 21,3 cm.

STATUETTE REPRESENTING THE GOD ANTHROPOZOMORPH THOT-IBIS STANDING, IN THE WALKING ATTITUDE.



Material : Alkaline siliceous ceramics with green glaze. Excellent conservation and superb quality.

PAINTED ANUBIS.

Linen fabric finely painted with the jackal’s God Anubis, represented his ears raised, and lying down on a nicely represented Naos.

Material:
Linen and black pigments.

Condition : Very nice conservation, small rips.

Datation :
Pharaonic Egypt art.Late periods(334-30 B.C)

Height :22 cm Width : 24 cm.

The artist’ stroke is extremely delicate, not to say exceptional. Work of a great plastic quality.

MUMMY’ PLASTREON MASK REPRESENTING AN ANCIENT EGYPT WOMAN'S CHEST.

She is wearing a striped tunic and is orned with a necklace bearing a moon-shaped pendant. Her hairstyle is made of plant fibres. She also wears  a beautiful crown. Her left hand rests on her chest.
Uraeus’ friezes are painted on its sides, representing scenes of adoration for  the solar discus and Horus, performed by Goddesses Isis and Nepthis.
On top, a falcon, its wings wide spread, is represented with majesty.

Material :
stuccoed  painted cloth; and plant fibres for the hairs.

Height:
55 cm.

Datation:
Ancient Egypt art. 2nd to 3rd Century.

She wears a garment with straps crossed between breasts.
On back slab five columns of hieroglyphs.

Datation:New Kingdom, first part of XVIII dynasty (around 1539-1350 B.C)

FUNARY STELE of DJED-HATHOR-ES-ANKH

Limestone

Datation: Egypt. Ptolemaïc period

Height : 33,4cm - Width: 24,5cm

Legends in french from right to the left  :

"L' Osiris Djed-Hathor-es-änkh"
"Osiris qui preside à l' Occident"
"Harsiesis"
"Isis"
"Anubis
"

Translation of the five hieroglyphics  lines  :

(1) Offrande que donne le roi à Osiris qui préside à l' Occident, le grand Dieu, Anubis qui préside au pavillon du dieu, préposé aux bandelettes, seigneur de la nécropole.

(2) pour qu' il accorde l' offrande invocatoire, pains,bières,bovidés,vollailles,encens,huiles,végétaux, toute chose bonne et pure

(3)que donne le ciel, que crée la terre ou qu' apporte la crue de sa caverne, ce dont vit un Dieu

(4)pour le "ka" de l' Osiris, la musicienne....d' Hathor dame de Denderah, Djed-Hathor-es-änkh juste de voix,

(5) fille du prêtre sehepep-hem.es, prêtre hem-hor et quatrième prophête Nes-paoutyou ?, qu' a conçue la maitresse-de-maison et musicienne....d' Hathor Meret-it ?.

A VERY RARE SCARAB OF HEART.

Material: Stéatite, red jasper and blue and red glass.

Datation : New Kingdom.

Lenght : 4,4 cm

Provenance : Old private collection. Acquired in the fifties

The plate of the piece is carved of six lines of hieroglyphs from the book of the dead, chapter XXXB. The details of the back of the sacred symbol are made of blue and red glass sculpted by egyptian glassmaker in a closed mould. It indicates the owner of the piece was certainly an important dignitary of the royal court.
