Foundation’s brick engraved with the king UNTASH-NAPIRISHA’s name.

This rare quadrangular brick has for distinctive feature to have a long  bilingual inscription written in elamits and akkadians characters. Those inscriptions are truly exceptional.

Material : Cooked clay.

Dimension :12,8 X 38,7 X 38,7

Provenance :Ex. Belgium collection of Mr. the chief officer of Gent university : Léon Meyer. Acquired in 1960-61.

A brick bearing a similar inscription is in the Musée du Louvre.

Height : 11 cm

Datation : Age du bronze récent 1000-650 av J-C.

Provenance : private collection of Mr.A.

Commentary: In Egyptianizing style, clad in a belted striated kilt, the arms held parallel to the sides of the body, curved attributes,wearing armillas or arms bracelets, a broad collar and a false divine beard, the large eyebrows, the bottom of the conical crown ending at the juncture whith the striped back pillar.
