Foundation’s brick engraved with the king UNTASH-NAPIRISHA’s name.

This rare quadrangular brick has for distinctive feature to have a long  bilingual inscription written in elamits and akkadians characters. Those inscriptions are truly exceptional.

Material : Cooked clay.

Dimension :12,8 X 38,7 X 38,7

Provenance :Ex. Belgium collection of Mr. the chief officer of Gent university : Léon Meyer. Acquired in 1960-61.

A brick bearing a similar inscription is in the Musée du Louvre.

An antique south arabian complete male bust.

His upper bust whith an excellent conservation of the complete face, wearing a plain short kilt belted whith ties crossed at the back. The vertical fold between the legs at the front, his arching back accentuating the rounded buttocks, his armed pulled back and lowered.
The scale and quality of this torso relates to the statues of three kings believed to be from the royal cemetery in the kingdom of Awsan and now in the National Museum, Aden. See nos. 34-36,pp. 64-66 in Simpson, ed, Queen of Sheba, Treasures from Ancient Yemen.

Matière : Cooked clay

Dimension : Height 40 cm.

Provenance : Old private collection, 1970-80s.

Conservation : excellente, nez est intact. Très belle patine et superbe poli de la matière.

Material : Céramique alcaline siliceuse à glaçure bleue et noire.

Height : 11 cm

Datation : Age du bronze récent 1000-650 av J-C.

Provenance : private collection of Mr.A.

Commentary: In Egyptianizing style, clad in a belted striated kilt, the arms held parallel to the sides of the body, curved attributes,wearing armillas or arms bracelets, a broad collar and a false divine beard, the large eyebrows, the bottom of the conical crown ending at the juncture whith the striped back pillar.
